A very pleasant ‘music for spaces’ album in the vein of some of the greats of the genre, complete with a watery theme. Like (for instance) Takashi Kokubo’s work, Hybrid Palms balances the need for peace in an ambient song with the need for motion to keep it interesting. There are moments where the mastering feels almost analog, and the sound benefits for it. Aaron Fown
